Feeling stressed about college?
That’s WHY we host Your Teen Ready for College every year…to help provide you with REAL information about what’s ACTUALLY going on in admissions, and put the POWER back into your hands so you feel like you have the tools you need to tackle this the RIGHT way.
As a parent, you’ve already taken the first essential step by showing up to learn this information! Now, you need to make sure you’ve got your teen on board.
As a parent, it’s essential to make sure you’re not pushing your teen through the college process but instead are letting them lead the way.
But in order to lead the way, they need to know what they want.
And for a lot of students, this is the missing piece.
There’s so much pressure on students to meet the expectations of others…
- Social pressure to keep up with friends and classmates
- Academic pressure to meet teachers’ expectations and earn good grades
- Pressure about whether they’re meeting colleges’ expectations, and doing enough to get into the schools they want to attend
If students don’t have a strong sense of what THEY want to accomplish and WHY these goals matter to them, it’s easy to get overwhelmed by the stress and anxiety of trying to satisfy all of these competing demands.
This is why it’s so important for EVERY student to take time to identify the goals THEY want to accomplish.
When students take time to reflect on their priorities and set their own goals, it allows them to drown out the noise and feel more confident that they’re on track…no matter what everyone else around them is doing.
Ideally, these goals should be focused not just on what students want to DO in the upcoming year, but also on what they want to LEARN and WHO they want to become.
When students have their own goals, this changes the game for you as a parent as well, because instead of pushing them to achieve your goals you’re able to step into the role of supporting them to accomplish their goals.
Want to get the power of goal-setting working in your teen’s favor?
Let’s set up a time for your teen’s session!
