Feeling stressed about college?

2019 BONUS Goal-Setting Sessions

That’s WHY we host Your Teen Ready for College every year…to help provide you with REAL information about what’s ACTUALLY going on in admissions, and put the POWER back into your hands so you feel like you have the tools you need to tackle this the RIGHT way.

As a parent, you’ve already taken the first essential step by showing up to learn this information!  Now, you need to make sure you’ve got your teen on board.

As a parent, it’s essential to make sure you’re not pushing your teen through the college process but instead are letting them lead the way.

But in order to lead the way, they need to know what they want.
And for a lot of students, this is the missing piece.

There’s so much pressure on students to meet the expectations of others…

  • Social pressure to keep up with friends and classmates
  • Academic pressure to meet teachers’ expectations and earn good grades
  • Pressure about whether they’re meeting colleges’ expectations, and doing enough to get into the schools they want to attend

If students don’t have a strong sense of what THEY want to accomplish and WHY these goals matter to them, it’s easy to get overwhelmed by the stress and anxiety of trying to satisfy all of these competing demands.

This is why it’s so important for EVERY student to take time to identify the goals THEY want to accomplish.

When students take time to reflect on their priorities and set their own goals, it allows them to drown out the noise and feel more confident that they’re on track…no matter what everyone else around them is doing.

Ideally, these goals should be focused not just on what students want to DO in the upcoming year, but also on what they want to LEARN and WHO they want to become.

When students have their own goals, this changes the game for you as a parent as well, because instead of pushing them to achieve your goals you’re able to step into the role of supporting them to accomplish their goals.

2019 BONUS Goal-Setting Sessions

If setting goals is so important,
why aren’t more students doing it?

Most students have never really learned how to set goals,
so they’re not sure how to go about it.

Plus, envisioning and planning for the future is a skill that develops over time,
and most teens don’t have very much practice doing this yet.

So, most teens struggle to come up with goals on their own.

We believe setting effective goals is SO crucial that we have developed a whole process to help students set goals more strategically.

This is such an important part of what we do that we require every student who is considering coaching with us to meet with us for an initial goal-setting session before they set up their first coaching session.

The self-assessment & goal setting process we do together in this session is designed to help students evaluate their strengths, identify the skills that will be most important for them to improve, create a written list of the goals they would like to accomplish in the upcoming year, and consider why these changes matter to them.

Most students really enjoy this session, and leave feeling more confident and motivated to succeed!

I believe EVERY student should have the opportunity to start the new school year with a CLEAR vision for what THEY want to achieve.

So, to make sure as many of the students from our conference as possible have the support they need to succeed this year, we’re opening up a limited number spots on our coaches’ calendars to offer FREE goal-setting sessions for students who are going into 8th – 12th grade.

These sessions are available on a first-come, first-served basis only for families who are a part of our Your Teen Ready for College conference.

Want to get the power of goal-setting working in your teen’s favor?

Let’s set up a time for your teen’s session!
